Need Easy Camping Breakfast Ideas? Here's 15 to kick start your day

Summer is pretty much here, and that means camping season is upon us! I'm sure for those not in the upper parts of the country, camping season began months ago. But up here in Seattle, we're still figuring out what season we're in. Today has blue skies, but this weekend is rainy, and then the following weekend is in the 80s.

Talk about undecided!

But more on camping! We're hitting the road in mid-June for a week-long road trip/camping trip throughout the Canadian Rockies. She's never been, and as my favorite place in North America, I'm excited to get back and explore more parts with her!

With hotel prices around $300+ a night, we'll have a cost-effective way to see stunning landscapes. Honestly, there's nothing better than waking up to fresh mountain air, making coffee, and throwing some logs onto the fire.

If you're looking to get more into camping, here are a few sites I use:

  • Google/Maps: Search campgrounds for the area you're looking for, and federal, state, and private spots will show up
  • The Dyrt: This one is great for finding camping spots and dispersed sites (with no established sites on public lands that are free)
  • HipCamp: These are private sites that cost a bit more than usual campgrounds. However, they are really nice for finding spots close to national parks that are already full. (We got a good one in Olympic National Park when no other options were available.)

Tasty Breakfast Ideas While Camping

I sometimes struggle when it comes to figuring out camping meals because I want something tasty, but I also don't want to have an elaborate meal that requires a ton of ingredients, pots, pans, and clean-up. Personally, if we are having an early morning, we'll opt for the quick stuff like oatmeal, fruit, and a protein bar. But if you're looking for a legit meal, these are going to be delicious!

  1. Blueberry Banana Pancakes
  2. Johnny Appleseed Oatmeal
  3. Shakshuka
  4. Apple Sweet Potato Hash
  5. Halloumi Breakfast Sandwich
  6. Asparagus Pancetta Skillet Hash
  7. Breakfast Burritos with Chorizo and Sweet Potatoes
  8. Beans over Sourdough Toast
  9. Cheesy Hash Browns
  10. Campfire Breakfast Hash with Chorizo
  11. Bacon, Egg, and Avocado Breakfast Sandwich

A Tip for Faster Cooking

If you have the time, chopping up veggies or other ingredients before your trip and placing them in Tupperware is an easy way to prep for camp meals. Then, when you're on-site, all you have to do is pull them out and throw them on the stove. This saves you time, allowing you to hike longer, enjoy a campfire, or lounge in the hammock.

I have no idea how it's already September. July and August skirted right along, and now we're experiencing the changing seasons up here in Seattle. Five Days in Alaska Jaimie and I just returned from five amazing days in the Alaskan wild. We spent four nights in Port Alsworth, a small community in the middle of Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. From there, we took float planes to different Lake Clark and Katmai areas to watch brown bears in the wild and see the dramatic Alaskan scenery. This was my third time visiting Alaska, and it continues to dazzle. Seeing such remote places as they have been for hundreds or thousands of years...
